Partners Work With Us Our Team

The Islands Energy Program guides island governments and utilities to define and achieve their energy visions. The Program aims to accelerate the transition of island economies from a heavy dependence on fossil fuels to a diverse platform of renewables and energy efficiency while establishing a blueprint for other isolated economies.

The process is guided by a three-tiered approach that focuses on establishing a national energy strategy, de-risking projects, and fostering continuous learning through a renewable energy learning forum.

  1. National Energy Transition Planning: We convene key energy players and establish a national energy transition plan. The plan outlines how to reach a renewable target and defines the existing energy mix to reach this target.
  2. Project Development and Implementation: We attract top project developers and mitigate project risk by guiding the process.
  3. Renewable Energy Community of Practice: With our partner, CARILEC, we provide island energy practitioners with direct access to subject matter experts, and with a mechanism to exchange lessons and learn from each other. The virtual forum connects and empowers users and offers 24/7 access to valuable resources.

Partner islands1:  Anguilla, Aruba, Bahamas, Belize, Colombia (San Andres and Providencia), Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos, and the Seychelles.
