Kate Chrisman is a Manager with Rocky Mountain Institute’s China practice, where she focuses on city work and power reform. She was the editor for Reinventing Fire: China; A Roadmap for China’s Revolution in Energy Consumption and Production to 2050. 


Before joining RMI, Kate covered energy markets in China for one of the world’s largest energy pricing agencies. Her work ranged from initiating coverage on renewables to enhancing understanding her client’s understanding of China’s market on oil, natural gas, and electricity. Kate also worked on climate change and environmental policy with socially responsible investors, researched and edited a book on U.S.-China trade, and conducted analysis on energy performance for commercial buildings in California.  Kate has published hundreds of articles with a focus on China’s energy and environment. Kate spent closet to a decade in Greater China and speaks, reads, and writes Mandarin Chinese.
